Licensed Health Care Providers Needed

Per the Florida Department of Health, Florida needs qualified health care practitioners to support recovery efforts following the devastation of Hurricane Ian. Currently, there are over 200 shelters operating to serve displaced Floridians, and rescue efforts continue for those who did not evacuate. Immediate assistance for affected areas is provided by first responders, health care practitioners, government groups, disaster relief organizations and affiliated volunteers who are already trained and ready to serve. It is important for health care practitioners to not self-deploy, but to instead register with trusted organizations so response efforts can be coordinated properly. STEP 1: Go to www.VolunteerFlorida.org STEP 2: Select “Volunteer” STEP 3: View volunteer opportunities posted on the page STEP 4: Select “Express Interest” STEP 5: Create a volunteer account or log in to an existing account Thank you for your willingness to support the Florida Department of Health in response efforts to care for Floridians in need.

Welcome to the Northeast District Dental Association!

Founded in 1922, the Northeast District Dental Association (NEDDA) is a professional membership organization representing Florida’s licensed dentists in the northeastern counties of Bradford, Baker, Clay, Columbia, Dixie, Duval, Hamilton, Lafayette, Madison, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns, Suwannee, Taylor and Union. Staying true to the FDA’s mission is our top priority and our vision closely reflects our commitment to helping members succeed. Our component is committed to the improvement of the health of the public, promoting the art and science of dentistry and representing the concerns of the members of the dental profession. NEDDA is one of six components of the Florida Dental Association (FDA), and is part of the tripartite structure of organized dentistry.

CORONA VIRUS INFORMATION

The Florida Dental Association (FDA) has developed a toolkit for members whose practices are managing exposure to COVID-19. It can be found on the Practice Resources & Forms webpage and includes resources such as:

Also, on the FDA website under the Human Resources FAQs, you can find answers to such questions as, “Can I require my staff be tested for COVID-19?” The answer is yes. You can require a staff member to get tested, but you should ensure that the test is accurate and reliable.

A new addition to the HR FAQs this week is Florida-specific information that fully answers the question, “Can I require employees to be vaccinated?”
